LA Auto Show Review
The 2024 LA Auto Show is one of the premier automotive events in North America, and showcases new vehicles, cutting-edge technology, and industry trends. Ultrafabrics’ Stephen Gatny, Director Business Development of Advanced Automotive Design, talks about the diverse range of vehicles, from electric SUVs to performance sports cars, and the latest innovations unveiled at the show.
Ford unveiled the modernized 2025 Ford Expedition,
showcasing a sleek new design.
The instrument panel and upper door feature
expansive A-surface geometry that flows seamlessly between flat and vertical
planes. The interior materials exude warmth and luxury, highlighted by a fine
grain and sophisticated French topstitching. The steering wheel has also been
refreshed with a squared-off shape and a minimalist design that enhances the
overall aesthetic.
Notably, the liftgate has been redesigned to a split upper/lower
configuration, reminiscent of a Range Rover, perfect for tailgating.
Its exterior retains the retro-futuristic pixel aesthetic of previous Ioniq models and introduces a distinctive “eyebrow” panel above each wheel arch.
Inside, the cabin is both simple and functional, echoing the comfort of the new Santa Fe but with a more rounded design.
The new Challenger EV was another highlight.
Its interior
boasts ambient lighting that begins at the instrument panel and flows
seamlessly into the door’s mid-panel.
This lighting creates a cohesive, uniform
glow that enhances the materials used, adding depth to the overall look.
I was
disappointed that I didn’t have the chance to drive it.
The diverse array of new vehicles unveiled by global
automotive manufacturers vividly highlights the latest trends in transportation
and the future direction of the industry.
This show serves as a pivotal event
where automakers and consumers can engage, providing brands with a unique
platform to showcase their innovations and allow attendees to experience the
future of the automotive sector firsthand.
